Access AHWI email with Outlook

To set up the Microsoft Outlook 2010 client with Microsoft Exchange Online:
If Outlook is running, exit the program.

  1. On the Windows Start menu, click Control Panel, and then click Mail (32-bit); if you don't see it, you are in category view- click User Accounts and Family Safety, then click Mail (32-bit).
  2. In the Mail Setup dialog box, in the Profiles section, click Show Profiles.
  3. In the Mail dialog box, select Prompt for a profile to be used.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Open Outlook, click the button that says "New..."  enter a name (your username, jdoe for example, is a good choice if it is not already being used), click ok.
  6. Enter your name as others should see it in outgoing mail. Enter your email address (jdoe@ahwinstitute.com) and your new password that was just sent to you and click next. You will be asked to insert the password again. Give it time to create your inbox for the first time, especially if you have a large inbox.
  7. When you start Outlook again, you will have to select your new profile. Go back to control panel/mail and unclick show profiles in the profiles section so that it does not ask you which profile to use every time you run Outlook.
